ISO 13485 Certification for STS Technical Design Medical Manufacturing Quality

What ISO 13485 Certification Means for STS Technical Design

Earlier this year, STS Technical Design earned ISO Class 7 cleanroom certification under ISO 14644 cleanroom standard. That established control over the environment. Air quality. Contamination. Stability. It mattered. But it was only part of the equation.

Now, STS Technical Design is certified to ISO 13485:2016 medical device quality standard following a full audit by Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc.

This is not alignment. This is verification. A third party reviewed the system and confirmed it meets the requirements for medical device quality management.

The scope is precise. Design. Additive manufacturing. 3D printing using stereolithography. Biocompatible materials. This is controlled work inside regulated environments, and now it is formally validated.

Certification changes how the work gets done. Every process is documented. Every step is controlled. Every outcome is traceable. Materials are tracked from start to finish. Risk is assessed and reduced at every stage. Nonconforming product is identified, contained, and corrected. Nothing moves without a defined process behind it.

ISO 13485 carries weight because it forces proof. It aligns with regulatory expectations across major markets, including FDA requirements in the United States and EU MDR standards in Europe. It requires ongoing audits. Annual surveillance. Full recertification every three years. The system is not assumed to work. It is tested, repeatedly.

The cleanroom was step one. It gave STS Technical Design a controlled environment for resin printing, assembly, inspection, and packaging. ISO 13485 completes the system. Now the environment and the process operate together. Clean space, controlled workflow, documented outcomes.

For customers, this removes friction. Audits move faster. Qualification becomes easier. Confidence is built before production even begins. You are not reviewing claims. You are reviewing a system that has already been verified.

There are companies that can print parts. There are companies that operate cleanrooms. There are companies that understand regulatory frameworks. Very few bring all three together under a certified quality system.

STS Technical Design does.

No shortcuts. No assumptions. No gray areas. Just controlled, audited, repeatable work built for medical and high-spec applications.
